7 Day Challenge

Hi, I’m Carleigh,

I’m a mental warrior, adventure enthusiast, yoga teacher, and lover of travel. Mental health is my greatest passion, and my number one priority every single day. I experienced my darkest days at the age of 12 years old, struggling with crippling anxiety and depression, and planning to end my own life. Over the years, my anxiety grew into disordered eating and substance abuse, while I moved in and out of depressive episodes. 

 

When I was 19, I experienced my only manic episode, a pivotal moment in my healing journey. I came to realize that I was not defined by the way my brain worked, and I promised myself that I would find healing.

I began a deep dive into my mind, immersing myself in nature, focusing on nutrition, and prioritizing sleep. At the age of 20, I became a yoga teacher, and have since been continuing the journey of mastering my own mind, while guiding others to do the same. 

 

These 7 pillars are the exact things that I do every single day to live a happy, healthy, high functioning life without using any medication, even with the diagnosis of bipolar disorder (among other things). I promise that if you take on these 7 pillars as your priority, and make tiny lifestyle changes to incorporate them daily, you will enhance your wellbeing!

 

Who I am today is someone who is unconditionally in love with herself, and I’m so proud of everything that I’ve accomplished. I know that you can heal your mind, you can transform your life, and I know this because I’ve done it.

What are the 7 Pillars?

Lets dive into the “why” and “how” of each of these practices, and learn how influential they are on your mental well-being!

  • Step 1 - Self Love
    You will uncover essential truths about your place in this universe, uncover your self-worth, and find out that there is so much to love about you!
  • Step 2 - Own Your Past
    We must accept what has happened to us in order to move forward and blaze a new path for ourselves. Here, you will discover practices and techniques to turn your past pains into a story that makes you strong.
  • Step 3 - Clear The Clutter
    This is when we’ll take a look at your life, environment, and mind, and clear out anything that is not serving you, from your secret doom drawer, to your self- deprecating thoughts.
  • Step 4 - Nourish Your Body
    You will learn and come to understand the deep connections between the body and mind. You’ll receive yoga practices to help move your body, and simple ideas to make your favourite meals even healthier and more nourishing!
  • Step 5 - Nurture your Mind
    Dive into practices that will enliven your mind. Find guided meditations, techniques and tools to connect even more deeply with yourself and the world around you.
  • Step 6 - Let Yourself Be Selfish
    Only through putting yourself first can you become your best, and when you’re at your best, your loved ones, and everyone around you will benefit.
  • Step 7 - Make Yourself Uncomfortable
    Unpack what makes you uncomfortable and learn how to face your fears! On the other side of discomfort is where we truly find growth.
  • Step 8 - Practice, Practice, Practice
    Healing is a journey, not a destination. Now it’s time for you to fine- tune your unique self- care plan and practices to sustain a lifestyle that facilitates your healing journey!
  • Why is this trip such a great deal?
    Aside from your accommodation, food, and activities being totally handled, the intensive workshops and wisdom you will absorb are SO valuable, that you cannot afford to miss this trip! How will your life look in 5 years if nothing changes? You deserve this transformation!
  • Can my friend, partner, kids, and dog come?
    As this is a deeply transformative experience, we highly recommend that you take the leap of faith and come on this journey alone. If you and a friend/ loved one have been on a healing journey together, and truly feel that you both need this experience, please reach out at manasmastery@gmail.com, and let's have a conversation. Please leave all furry friends at home with a pet sitter.
  • Do I have to participate in all of the activities?
    In order to get the most out of this retreat, we highly encourage that you participate in all activities. However, that being said, if you would prefer to sleep in and miss yoga, or take a rest day and skip an excursion, that is up to you! Please note, all activities are booked ahead of time, and if you do choose not to participate in something, it will not result in a refund.
  • How many people are coming on this retreat?
    We are inviting a maximum of 10 people to join us in Tulum, so our group will be small and intimate!
  • What if I don’t eat certain foods?
    Our on-site chefs are fully prepared to cater to any dietary restrictions or allergies, just let us know ahead of time!
  • Is Tulum safe?
    Tulum and the Yucatan peninsula are highly touristed areas which tend to be safe. These areas are not mentioned as an area of concern on travel advisories. Your tour guides, hosts, and accommodation staff are all there to look out for you on your journey.
  • I’m a yoga teacher, sound healer, or have another specialty I’d like to share, is there space for my talents?
    We have 1 “scholarship space” available that is not listed on the registration page, reserved for someone wanting to contribute to the magic of this retreat; get in touch if this is you!
  • I need this trip, but I'm not sure I can afford it...

  • I’m scared to travel alone, is this trip for me?
    If you’re scared to travel alone, this trip is PERFECT for you! Aside from jumping outside of your comfort zone to fly into Cancun, when you arrive you will be surrounded by like-minded soul siblings on a similar healing journey. Take solitude if you wish, or enjoy the social aspect of the retreat with your new best friends!
  • I don’t speak Spanish, can I still come?
    Tulum is quite a touristed area, and most people speak English really well! Your guides are fluent in English, and speak a small amount of Spanish so they can help you communicate if necessary. All of your tours, workshops, and classes will be in English.
  • I’ve never travelled internationally, will I be safe?
    Just to be clear, you do need a passport to travel internationally, but once you have that then you’re good to go! Experiencing another culture is one of the great joys of being alive! Travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer. Your guides are very familiar with Tulum, we are staying in a safe (and family friendly) location, and you will be chaperoned every step of the way (unless you desire a solo exploration, which you are welcome to take)! Long answer short, yes, you are safe and in great hands.
  • When/where do I fly in?
    We recommend flying into Cancun on December 29th in the late morning/ early afternoon if possible, and we will have a shuttle leaving Cancun airport at 2:30pm to bring you to Paledora! On January 5th, we recommend booking a flight from Cancun in the afternoon, as we have a shuttle leaving from Paledora at 11am, and the trip is 1.5 hours. If you are flying in/ out at times separate from these, we are happy to help you arrange an airport shuttle at your own cost.

  • Cancellation Policy
    A non-refundable $500 deposit is due upon booking. We reserve the right to cancel the trip if it is not meeting the trip minimum attendees (if we do so, your deposit is refunded in full). Full payments are due by September 15th, 2023. Cancellations between July 1st - September 15th, 2023 will receive a 50% refund of the total cost. Cancellations on or after September 16th, 2023 will forfeit 100% of the cost of the trip. Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended when making travel plans.

What's included?

​Each day, you’ll watch a short 5 minute video, explaining the why and how of the pillar for that day.

 

Some of the days you’ll have a practice video included and can simply follow along, and some of the days you’ll be left with ideas or a worksheet on how to implement the practice into your day.

Ideally, you can commit 20 minutes of time for each of the 7 days of this challenge, and the more energy you put into your healing journey, the more you’ll get out of it!
